10 Best Destinations for Backpackers in March!

This march is an opportunity for you to travel and visit those places that are foreign to you. There are so many destinations that are popular and are worth visiting for. Add this list to yours.

Sri Lanka
Flights are affordable and the country is still reasonably cheap and un - touristy. We had a chat to Jordan (hostel manager, St Kilda bar crawl host, Sushi enthusiast and all round top bloke), who recently travelled Sri Lanka by Tuk Tuk and Scooter. In his words, "30 years of civil war came to an end in 2009 which opened Sri Lanka's doors to tourism with attractions including tea plantations, wildlife viewing, jungles and beaches. Right now as the word is still getting out, there's an opportunity to get in before the tourist crowds. But don't expect it to last for much longer."

Colombia
Colombia describes Colombians as "some of the friendliest and most inquisitive people. Such varied terrain means that there's always something to see, do and photograph. It's got everything, from the laidback Caribbean coast, to football madness and a fierce political history and a morbid history that still resonates today."
 South Africa
South Africa has been on the radar for a number of years, but international tourism has really taken off recently. Southern tip of Africa for great food and wine, great beaches or get lost in Kruger National Park while spotting animals in the wild. An absolute must do for the bucket list."

Israel
Jerusalem is clearly the historical and cultural capital and the winding cavernous streets that populate the old city are full of exciting landmarks. People wise it's by far the most packed in, forced diversity I've witnessed. I'd recommend jumping on the bus from the Damascus Gate to the West Bank city of Ramallah. The Palestine people have been given a bad rap for a long time, but I met some of the friendliest people I've ever met during my days in Ramallah - try Taybeh the Palestinian beer, or sit with the old gents on the sidewalks for a Hookah and a game of Shesh Besh." Tensions and violence have escalated the last week in Jerusalem. Always check safety cautions with your local government.

Iceland
Iceland has been included in lists of best travel destinations, primarily for the country's "natural attractions, from the hot springs to its striking mountains and plains," as well as the capital city's thriving "artistic scene." Iceland's geysers, glaciers, thermal springs and sulphuric smell of egg in the air are comparable to the volcanic activity of New Zealand - either way, it's on our list. Iceland... we're coming for you!

Uruguay
Uruguay has also made our list! Why? It's cheap and a little off the traditional South American trail. Nestled between Brazil and Argentina, this little touch of paradise is really only visited by those backpackers not following the traditional route from Rio to Buenes Aires. Uruguay's La Barra Beach has constantly been named one of the world's best party beaches. Need we say more?

Australia
Australia is amazing for backpackers! Australia has a little something for everyone; from a unique culture to endless stretches of surf beach, the world's largest living organism (the Great Barrier Reef), the world's oldest living organism (the Stomatalites) and the world's largest sand island (Fraser Island)

Nepal
Nepal’s Trekking through the Himalayas has for a long time been a major tourist attraction. The views of the mightly and glowing 'Fish Tail' from Annapuran Base Camp really put into perspective just how insignificant we really are. Much of the guest houses in Pokhara and Kathmandu are still open for business and the Nepalese people, despite the tragic events, remain friendly and hospitable. Nepal is extremely affordable for any budget conscious traveller and the country's rich history, colourful Stupas, bustling cities and mountainous wonders are a sight to be seen. Tip: Try the local Dal Bhat!

New Zealand
Why does New Zealand make the cut? Backpacker buses make for an affordable yet flexible means of travel throughout the country, and a great way to meet other travellers. The country's landscape is so diverse that your entire New Zealand journey will be made of vastly different snapshots and experiences: Volcanic Lakes, Hiking through Mountains, Learning to surf in Raglan, White Water Rafting down the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall, HobbitonBungy Jumping, Skydiving, Hanggliding - the list goes on!

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is small and diverse, which means you don't have to travel too far to experience all that the country has on offer. Rainforest, rocky coastlines, surf beaches, mountains and Caribbean islands... what more could you ask for? The historic capital city of San Juan is home to World Heritage Listed 16th century Forts, El Morro being the most popular, and has catered for backpackers in the form of cheap hostels, food and a bustling party scene. To save your dollars and chillax, we recommend a trip to the popular island of Rincon off the Puerto Rico's west coast. The island boasts world class surf, tropical rainforest, scuba diving, snorkeling, whale watching and beach front bars.

How about that huh? So what are you waiting for? Let us travel now.

“The Keto Diet Guide: 10 Best Foods to Eat”

A ketogenic diet typically limits carbs to 20–50 grams per day. While this may seem challenging, many nutritious foods can easily fit into this way of eating. Here are 10 healthy foods to eat on a ketogenic diet.

Fish and shellfish are very keto-friendly foods. Salmon and other fish are rich in B vitamins, potassium and selenium, yet virtually carb-free
While these shellfish can still be included on a ketogenic diet, it's important to account for these carbs when you're trying to stay within a narrow range.

Cheese is both nutritious and delicious.
There are hundreds of types of cheese. Fortunately, all of them are very low in carbs and high in fat, which makes them a great fit for a ketogenic diet.

Avocados
Avocados are incredibly healthy.
Avocados are high in several vitamins and minerals, including potassium, an important mineral many people may not get enough of. What's more, a higher potassium intake may help make the transition to a ketogenic diet easier.

Meat and poultry are considered staple foods on a ketogenic diet.
Fresh meat and poultry contain no carbs and are rich in B vitamins and several minerals, including potassium, selenium and zinc
They're also a great source of high-quality protein, which has been shown to help preserve muscle mass during a very low-carb diet.

Eggs are one of the healthiest and most versatile foods on the planet.
One large egg contains less than 1 gram of carbs and fewer than 6 grams of protein, making eggs an ideal food for a ketogenic lifestyle.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has unique properties that make it well suited for a ketogenic diet.
To begin with, it contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). Unlike long-chain fats, MCTs are taken up directly by the liver and converted into ketones or used as a rapid source of energy.
In fact, coconut oil has been used to increase ketone levels in people with Alzheimer's disease and other disorders of the brain and nervous system.

Olive oil provides impressive benefits for your heart.
It's high in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that has been found to decrease heart disease risk factors in many studies.
In addition, extra-virgin olive oil is high in antioxidants known as phenols. These compounds further protect heart health by decreasing inflammation and improving artery function

Nuts and seeds are healthy, high-fat and low-carb foods.
Frequent nut consumption has been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, certain cancers, depression and other chronic diseases. Furthermore, nuts and seeds are high in fiber, which can help you feel full and absorb fewer calories overall.
Although all nuts and seeds are low in net carbs, the amount varies quite a bit among the different types.

Dark chocolate and cocoa are delicious sources of antioxidants.
In fact, cocoa has been called a "super fruit," because it provides at least as much antioxidant activity as any other fruit, including blueberries and acai berries.
Dark chocolate contains flavanols, which may reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering blood pressure and keeping arteries healthy.

Berries
Most fruits are too high in carbs to include on a ketogenic diet, but berries are an exception.
Berries are low in carbs and high in fiber.
In fact, raspberries and blackberries contain as much fiber as digestible carbs.

So what are you waiting for? Try this extraordinary diet now.

10 Best Destinations for Solo Travelers in March

"You only live once". Live with no regrets. Travel as much as you can. Don't cage yourself away from the beauty of the world. Discover them now. We provide just the right list of places to visit for solo travelers.

1. Lombok and the Gili Islands, Indonesia
Not as overrun as its more famous neighbour Bali, Lombok is gaining a sterling reputation with independent travellers who want to learn to surf, snorkel or dive. Inland, lush green paddy fields stretch away to the massive Gunung Rinjani volcano with its waterfalls and hot springs. The three tiny but increasingly popular Gili Islands off Lombok’s northwest coast are also easy to access – Trawangan is where the party’s at.

2. Cuba
The Cuban capital of Havana conjures images of crumbling colonial architecture, 1950s Chevys, salsa and cigars. However, with the political scene inside Cuba shifting, private enterprise is being encouraged and small businesses across the country are opening and expanding. Now is a great time to visit those tiny back street restaurants and artisan shops.

3. Guatemala
If you’re looking for the best places to travel alone in Central and South America, don’t overlook Guatemala and its ancient Mayan ruins. It’s an inexpensive place to travel, which means you can stay for a while – to learn Spanish or even volunteer. Many come here for adventure activities like hiking, kayaking and whitewater rafting.  Exploring the jungle is another great way to see the country. You can also get up close and personal with Central America’s most active volcano – the volcán de Fuego. Haggling for fresh produce in one of the country’s colourful markets is an adventure in itself.

4. Kenya
With its incredibly diverse ecosystem and reputation for the “Big Five” (elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard), Kenya is the place for a safari. You can easily join a big group or arrange for a guide to take you out into the wilderness alone. The country has a good infrastructure and it’s easy to get around and find accommodation. Take care of your belongings, particularly in Nairobi; but don’t hide away in your hotel when it gets dark. Venture out to discover the city’s burgeoning nightlife scene (though taxis between venues are recommended).

5. South Island, New Zealand
The list of solo activities you can do on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island is endless: zorbing, horse riding, skiing, hiking, kayaking, bungy jumping, skydiving, jet boating, whitewater rafting… With jaw-dropping scenery around every corner, the small country is one big outdoor playground. Mountains, glaciers, lakes and craggy coastline form the backdrop for a place that is regularly voted one of the most beautiful in the world.

6. Barcelona, Spain
Busy Barcelona is one the best places to travel alone. Its café-lined boulevards are perfect for people watching, or you can escape the hustle and bustle by heading out to one of the city beaches on the super easy-to-use public transport. In the evening you can avoid eating alone in a stuffy restaurant by doing as the Spanish do: grazing on tapas in one of the city’s cool bars.

7. Ireland
Ireland is famous for the welcome it extends to strangers; pull up a stool in a traditional Irish pub, offer to buy your neighbour a pint and you’ll have a friend for life – or at least the evening. Stay a while and you might get lucky and catch a traditional Celtic music session. If you don’t have your own transport, then it can be tricky to get out to the remote west coast, though some people still hitchhike (of course not without its dangers). Here you’ll find some of the country’s most sacred sites including Skellig Michael, Rock of Cashel and Croagh Patrick.

8. Nepal
Although earthquakes have recently rocked Nepal, many of the regions famous for hiking are largely unaffected – and the country is in desperate need of your tourist dollar. If you’re an experienced altitude trekker, the Annapurna circuit can be tackled independently, but it’s wise to hire a porter or set out with an organised group. Hiking this Himalayan circuit typically takes three weeks and it’s a great way to get up close to traditional mountain people; you need very little gear as you stay in comfortable teahouses along the way and buy food as you go.

9. New York City, USA
Explore the streets of Manhattan and the outer boroughs with no arguments over which world famous museum, cutting edge art gallery or iconic landmark to visit. If you aren’t as brave as Carrie Bradshaw and don’t want to face a restaurant alone, then there are plenty of gourmet food markets to eat on the hop. You could also browse a Brooklyn flea market, people watch in Times Square, go rollerblading in Central Park or take a sightseeing cruise on the Hudson.

10. Hokkaidō, Japan
Japan is a very friendly country and outsiders, especially those travelling alone, are made welcome as a matter of course. Hokkaidō is the most northern and least developed of the country’s four main islands and although its capital city hosted the 1972 Winter Olympic Games and brews the famous Sapporo beer, Hokkaidō is best known for the great outdoors.

So go on, pack your things and put it in your bag for you are about to embark on a journey you will never regret.
