Can Coffee Be Part of a Healthy Lifestyle? You’ll be Surprised!

Would you rather give up your phone for a month rather than skip your morning cup of coffee?

Still, with more than 400 million cups of java consumed each day nationwide, you may wonder about the impact on your health.

A recent study confirms that the beverage you love probably poses little risk, unless you consume more than 6 cups a day.

That seems to be the point at which coffee may shrink brain volume and increase the risk for stroke and dementia by 53%.

The research was conducted by the University of South Australia and is the largest of its kind to date.

As long as you consume coffee in moderation, you can probably enjoy the flavor, along with its many impressive health benefits.

Learn more about how to make your coffee habit work for you.

Read more: Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Solution for Women Who Love Spicy Foods

How to Drink Coffee in Moderation

The average American drinks about 3 cups of coffee a day, well under the FDA recommendation of 4 servings or less.

If you need to cut back, try these tips:

1. Taper down. Caffeine headaches are real.

If you stop abruptly, your blood vessels may suddenly enlarge and put uncomfortable pressure on the nerves surrounding your brain.

Slow down gradually instead.

2. Shrink your cups. How big is your mug?

The industry standard is 6 ounces, so you may be drinking more than you realize.

3. Start later. Do you need coffee to wake up in the morning?

Consider a glass of water instead. You’ll feel more alert when you’re rehydrated, and you can sit down with your coffee when you get to work.

4. Change brands. Espresso tastes more intense, but it has less caffeine than regular coffee.

That’s because it’s made with arabica beans rather than robusta. You may also want to try decaf or mix regular and decaffeinated coffee together.

5. Drink water.  Heavy coffee consumption may leave little room in your diet for the water your brain needs.

Carry a refillable bottle around with you.

Other Tips for Brain Health

Your lifestyle has a major impact on how your brain functions.

Some changes are natural with age, but you can slow down cognitive decline.

Try these techniques:

1. Limit alcohol. Even moderate drinking may shrink your brain and change its structure.

Schedule days off from alcohol and talk with your doctor if you need help.

2. Quit smoking. Tobacco thins your cerebral cortex and interferes with circulation. Make a plan and pick a date to say goodbye to cigarettes.

3. Exercise regularly. Your body and brain are closely connected.

Stay fit with a balanced program of aerobic and resistance workouts.

4. Sleep well. While you’re lying in bed, your brain is busy recovering from its daily work.

Give it the rest it needs. Stick to a consistent early bedtime and keep your bedroom dark and quiet.

5. Manage stress. Chronic tension causes inflammation and premature aging. Slow down the process by finding relaxation practices that match your needs.

Do relaxing stretching exercises or listen to instrumental music. Talk with a family member or friend when you feel blue.

6. Stay engaged. Learning and socializing stimulate your brain.

Make room in your calendar for parties, reading, and other fun activities.

Let’s be grateful that something as delicious as coffee can be part of a healthy lifestyle!

Multiple studies have found that it sharpens your focus, boosts your mood, and may even lower your risk for certain cancers.

Keep your body and brain in top shape with moderate coffee consumption and other positive habits.

8 Proven Ways to Boost Your Brain Health – Avoid Stroke and Alzheimer's Disease!

We pay more attention to the health of our body than we do the health of our brain.

Just as there are many things you can do to preserve the health of your body, you can also take steps to preserve your cognitive abilities.

You have more control over your brain health than you might think.

Taking the right steps today can help to avoid serious issues, like stroke and Alzheimer's disease down the road.

You can’t live without your brain, and you’ll struggle to enjoy life with a compromised brain. The future of your brain health largely depends on what you do today.

Read more: 5 Foods that Make You Happy!

Boost your brain health today with these strategies:

1.Get enough sleep. Your body and brain don’t function properly without sleep.

A lack of sleep is stressful for every component of your body. Healing and recovery occur during sleep. Your brain isn’t at its best if you’re not getting enough sleep each night.

●How much sleep is enough? Let your body decide, but the experts generally agree that 7-9 hours is best for adults.

2.Have positive relationships. Your brain is healthier if you interact with other people in a positive way.

Negative relationships have a negative impact on your brain. Spending too much time alone isn’t good for your brain either.

Spend time with people you enjoy.

3.Avoid alcohol and tobacco. It’s no secret that consumption of alcohol and tobacco can both have negative health consequences.

Limit your use of these items as much as possible.

4.Be mentally active each day. Do something each day to challenge your brain. Brains develop when challenged.

The loss of cognitive ability due to age can be slowed, too. There are plenty of activities to choose from:

●Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or any other brain puzzle
●Chess
●Study a new language.
●Study a musical instrument.
●Write: novel, journal, blog, poem.
●Play cards.
●Count backward from 500 by sevens.
●Do math problems.
●Go back to school and take a class.

5.Pay attention to your diet. The food you put into your body ultimately becomes your body.

Think about that. Your body is composed of the things you eat, drink, and breathe.

Better building blocks equal a better brain. The foods you eat matter tremendously.

6.Lower your blood pressure. High blood pressure has several negative consequences.

Among those is damaging the lining of the blood vessels, including those in your brain. This greatly contributes to the likelihood of suffering a stroke, along with many other catastrophic health issues.

7.Lower your blood sugar. High blood sugar is also damaging to the lining of blood vessels.

If you have blood sugar issues, it’s important to see your doctor and address it immediately.

●High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar tend to go together. It’s a dangerous combination.

8.Exercise. Exercise is good for your brain and body.

You already know that you should be exercising, so make sure that you’re staying active. Join a crossfit gym and hire a trainer if necessary.

Many of the things that help your body, such as exercise and a healthy diet, are also good for your brain. You can kill two birds with one stone.

Live a healthy lifestyle and keep your brain busy.

You must exercise it if you want it to be at its best. The quality of your retirement largely depends on the quality of your brain health! Make the most of it.

5 Foods that Make You Happy!

Low mood and sad feelings are experiences that sadly, all too many of us are familiar with. But there is good news available.

While it can sometimes feel as though a low mood dominates your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, this does not have to be the case.

Small, subtle changes can make a significant difference, and this includes paying close attention to your diet.

Read more: Top 5 Ways to Add More Vegetables into Your Family’s Diet!

Making small changes to the things you eat can have a huge impact on your mood and emotions. In this guide we take a closer look at five foods you can enjoy to lift your spirits and boost your mood.

1. Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate has been shown to improve mood in those who suffer from depression, and studies suggest that eating dark chocolate may also help reduce stress levels.

The flavonoids found in cocoa beans are thought to increase the level of serotonin (a brain chemical) in the body. This helps to regulate mood and makes you feel happier.

Keep a bar of dark chocolate in the fridge, and enjoy a square or two when the low moods hit.

2. Salmon

Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.

They are also rich in vitamin D, B vitamins, and iron, which are essential nutrients for healthy skin, hair, and nails.

Eating salmon regularly can help keep your immune system strong, and protect against heart disease and stroke.

Salmon is also an excellent source of protein, so if you’re feeling tired or run down, try adding some fish to your diet.

3. Blueberries

Blueberries contain anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that support mental health. Anthocyanins are believed to help fight free radicals, which are harmful compounds produced during normal metabolism, and this means that blueberries can help to prevent memory loss and dementia.

As an added bonus, blueberries are also a superfood!

4. Bananas

Bananas are packed full of potassium, which plays a key role in nerve function and muscle contraction.

Potassium deficiency is associated with anxiety and panic attacks, so eating bananas regularly can help to calm nerves and ease tension.

Bananas are also packed with vitamin B6, an important element in synthesizing feel-good neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which help you to feel great.

5. Oats

Oats are another food that is great for fighting low mood, as they contain magnesium, which is vital for helping muscles relax and reducing stress.

Magnesium is also needed for energy production, so eating oats regularly can give you more stamina throughout the day.

If you want to add extra fiber to your breakfast, try making porridge from rolled oats, water, and milk. It takes just minutes to cook. This is easy to prepare ahead of time. You can even freeze it, then pop it straight into the microwave for a quick, warm bowl of goodness.

6. Berries

Berries are high in antioxidants, which are beneficial for maintaining eyesight, protecting cells from damage, and boosting immunity.

Antioxidants are also thought to play a part in preventing cancer, so berries are a fantastic way to maintain good health - including lifting your mood and combating high levels of stress.

Try mixing berries with bananas and yogurt for a tasty snack that is packed with goodness and nutrition.

Final Thoughts

Mood swings are common, and can be difficult to manage.

But the good news is that there are ways to manage them naturally. Try incorporating these foods into your daily diet to boost your mood and get back on track.

Top 5 Ways to Add More Vegetables into Your Family’s Diet!

Does your family cringe every time they see you pick up broccoli in the grocery store or try to use it during dinner?

Do they avoid vegetables and complain about them during meals?

You can add more vegetables to your family’s diet without hearing complaints!

Read more: Top 3 Easy Weight Loss Strategies to Kick Your Weight Loss Resolutions into High Gear!

Try these proven strategies:

1. Add the one bite rule. The rule can help both adults and children try new vegetables without feeling overwhelmed.

  • The one bite rule is easy to implement during meal times and requires that everyone take at least one bite of the food before rejecting it.

Family members often reject the vegetables before they try them, so this keeps the balance.
  • Studies reveal that it can take multiple exposures to a new food before a person likes it. The one bite rule is a good way to keep them exposed to new vegetables.

2. Make the vegetables look good. A beautiful arrangement can make a difference.

  • A clump of cooked kale or spinach doesn’t look appetizing or appealing. If you arrange the food in a beautiful manner, it can help convince the family to try it.
  • You can make animals out of vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, celery, and other foods. You can also make entire scenes with boats, flowers, sunshine, clouds, or other ideas.

3. Make the vegetables taste good. How are you preparing the vegetables? Are you using butter, herbs, and spices?

A few simple ingredients can make vegetables outstanding and delicious. Garlic is an easy way to add flavor to veggies.

  • Herbs and spices like thyme, rosemary, or sage can make the vegetables more interesting and appealing.
  • Cheese is another option for spicing up the vegetables and making them more appealing.

4. Hide the vegetables in other foods. It’s a sneaky method, but many families use it every day to get more vegetables in their diets.

  • If you add vegetables or vegetable purees to other foods while you’re cooking, then the family may not notice the addition.

You can make pizza crust with cauliflower, squash, or zucchini.
  • Add vegetables to fruit smoothies, so the blended concoction is healthier.
  • Include vegetables such as zucchini and carrots in muffins as you make them. The final result doesn’t taste bitter.
  • Add zucchini to pancakes, and they won’t believe they’re eating vegetables for breakfast. The addition of other ingredients hides the flavor of the zucchini.
  • Add vegetables to your recipes by using purees, mashing, or grating them.

5. Get the family involved in preparing vegetables. Getting the entire family involved in meal preparation can motivate them to cook and eat their vegetables.

  • Children who help pick out vegetables at the grocery store are more likely to eat them later. Plus, if they’re involved in cooking the foods, then they want to taste the results.
  • However, if you’re hiding vegetables in your food, then you may want to ask them to leave the kitchen during this sneaky process.

Vegetables are a crucial part of the diet, so it’s important to ensure your family is getting enough.

There are ways to add more vegetables to their diets without hearing more complaints and seeing full plates of untouched broccoli or carrots.

Improve Your Overall Health: 10 Strategies to Heal Your Gut!

Do you have any idea how important gut health is to your overall health? You can’t be much healthier than your gut is!

You have a lot of cells in your body - roughly 37.2 trillion!

But you actually have far more bacteria: about 10 times as many. You have more bacteria in your body than you do human cells.

These bacteria are predominately in your digestive tract.

The health and composition of these bacteria are pivotal to your overall health.

These bacteria are necessary to digest and absorb nutrients. They also synthesize vitamins and provide some immunity from the flu virus and other unwanted invaders.

What you choose to eat and drink has the greatest impact on the flora, or gut bacteria, in your body.

Read more: Top 3 Easy Weight Loss Strategies to Kick Your Weight Loss Resolutions into High Gear!

These strategies will help you heal your gut and your body:

  1. Consider taking probiotics.

Much of your digestive system consists of the flora, or bacteria, that live in your gut.

There are foods that contain these healthy bacteria, but you can also consume them in pill form.

Probiotics are a great way to improve your gut health.
  2. Chew your food thoroughly.

The more you chew your food, the easier it is to digest. When you chew your food thoroughly, you increase the amount of surface area your digestive juices are able to attack.

This creates far less stress for your digestive system to deal with.
  3. Eat a healthy diet.

Eating unhealthy food is bad for every part of your body, including your gut.

Maximize your health by eating the healthiest possible diet.
  4. Adjust your fiber intake.

While most people need to eat more fiber to have a healthier gut, there are a few people that would do well to eat less.

The recommendation from the medical community is 25-35 grams per day.
  5. Relax! Stress is hard on every part of your body, and that includes your gut.

Minimizing the amount of stress in your life can do wonders for your overall health.

Either remove the sources of your stress or learn how to relax in spite of the stress in your life.
  6. Sleep. Your overall health, including your gut health, improves when you get enough sleep.

Most people in our society could stand to get another hour or two of sleep each night.

If you’re not getting at least seven hours each night, you need more sleep.
  7. Reduce sugar intake.

Sugar is considered by many scientists to be a toxin. It can be damaging to all the cells of your body.

Artificial sweeteners aren’t a great substitute.

Certain types of bad bacteria in your gut are able to consume various artificial sweeteners and become too prevalent in your body.
  8. Eat fermented foods.

Fermented foods are essentially probiotics in food form.

Yogurt and sauerkraut are two of the most common examples. Miso, kefir, tempeh, pickles, and kimchi are other options.

Eat more fermented foods, and your gut will thank you.
  9. Try a plant-based diet.

Many people struggle with meat and dairy products.

You might find that your digestive system feels and behaves better when you focus on plant-based foods.
  10. Consume bone broth.

Bone broth is made by boiling bones and connective tissues. You can purchase bone broth in the store, but the best broth is made at home. There are plenty of recipes available online.

It’s very easy to make, but time consuming. It can be quite tasty if seasoned properly.

If you haven’t been paying attention to your gut health, you’re not as healthy as you could be.

What you eat and drink has the greatest impact on your gut health.

Not only does the food you eat impact the health of every cell in your body, but it also affects the bacteria in your digestive tract.

When your bacteria are healthy, you’ll be much healthier, too!

13 Amazing Benefits of Using Art Therapy to Improve Your Health and Relationship!

Art therapy is a powerful form of treatment.

Experts often employ this set of tools to help people recover from serious trauma or mental illness.

Many of the techniques are also helpful if you want to use the creative process to improve your health and relationships.

If you're curious about how art therapy can benefit you physically, mentally, or relationally, you're in the right place.

Here are the major benefits of these techniques and some sample exercises you can do individually or with a group.

Read more: 8 Amazing Ways to Enhance Your Motivation in Weight Loss and Shed Those Pounds!

Benefits of Using Art Therapy Techniques

  1. Get to know yourself better. Taking a pause from your daily routine gives you an opportunity to discover new insights about yourself. You get to reflect on how you're feeling and what you value most.
  2. Promote healing. Put those insights to work. Use the images you create to help heal painful memories and remind yourself of all the things that you have to be grateful for. Art therapy focuses on the inner experience to help you find solutions to recurring challenges.
  3. Reduce stress. Relax and enjoy the creative process. Forget about your job and your kid's grades for a while. Get absorbed in letting your imagination run free.
  4. Strengthen your relationships. Art therapy can also have a social dimension. Share your activities with your family and friends. You'll all learn to process emotions better, improve your communication and build trust.

Ideas for Individuals

  1. Picture yourself as an animal. Draw yourself as an animal. This can be one that you think you resemble or that you want to be more like. Your choice may teach you something about yourself.
  2. Paint along with music. Use music to loosen yourself up. Set down the images that come to mind as you listen. Alternatively, just wave your pencil or paintbrush like a conductor's baton and see what takes form.
  3. Assemble a collage. Collages are an easy way to get started if you're stumped about what to draw. Put together a variety of found objects or cut pictures out of magazines. Add captions and quotes.
  4. Invent a coat of arms. Even if wearing a suit of armor may seem a little ridiculous, you can still enjoy sporting a coat of arms. Come up with a sketch and a slogan. If you're feeling bold, put them on a t-shirt.

Ideas for Groups

  1. Paint a mural. A big group needs a big canvas. Get an inexpensive roll of brown shipping paper and spread it out on the floor or tape it to a wall. Plan your design or let it evolve naturally.
  2. Illustrate a story. Ask your partner to tell a story while you make illustrations to go along with it. When you're done, switch roles.
  3. Create a group portrait. Capture the whole group on paper or in a collection of objects that you think speak to your identity.

You can pair off so that each person draws their partner or take group photographs. Take multiple shots to capture different moods and poses.
  4. Complete each other's drawings. Sit around a table and give everyone a colored pencil. Pass around a piece of paper so each person can add one line until you have a drawing. Your collective work can represent an object or just be an abstract design.
  5. Work on a mandala together. Mandalas are one of the most ancient group projects. Draw a big circle and fill in shapes and figures with colored sand.

When you're done, discuss what the picture means to you. Then, use forks or your fingers to rake it apart as a reminder that we're all constantly changing.

Have fun using the power of art to learn more about yourself and you'll welcome more happiness into your life.

As you start to think creatively about art therapy techniques, you'll discover more ways to express yourself and improve your well-being.

Top 3 Easy Weight Loss Strategies to Kick Your Weight Loss Resolutions into High Gear!

It's time to kick your weight loss resolutions into high gear.

You can lose weight in just a few months for summer without heavy dieting.

Follow these easy-to-implement weight loss tips to help you shed those last 10 pounds before summertime:

Read more: 6 Essential Tips for Aging Well and Stay Happy!

1. Become more active. Your goal should be to develop healthy habits.

By practicing these, you can burn calories without being strapped to an elliptical machine.

Choose habits that are simple to maintain, enjoyable, and productive.

  • Walk the dog rather than letting him out into the yard. Instead of stopping at the coffee shop in your car every morning, wake up fifteen minutes earlier to jog there before getting ready for work.
  • Choose activities that are relevant to your life. Then, you'll feel a commitment to the task. The dog needs to be walked, no matter what. And you definitely want your morning coffee! When you don’t feel motivated to go for a workout, get into a crossfit gym and workout with your buddies. When you feel dedicated, your efforts are less likely to stagnate.
  • Get someone else involved. Getting an easygoing workout buddy is a great way to keep activity levels up. Grab a neighbor and walk to the park every day. When at the park, sit on the swings or walk the trails while enjoying conversation. Then - of course - walk home. You'll be amazed at how many calories you'll burn!

2. Eat summery meals. Summery meals are characterized by being refreshing, simple, tasty, and healthy.

Even though summer is only peeking through the clouds right now, try to adapt to a summery diet of fruit bowls, spinach salads, grilled salmon, vegetable kebabs and other fresh options.

  • It's okay to crave sugary foods, but some choices are better than others. It's best to feed your sweet tooth now in order to avoid a binge later. Sweet treats like watermelon, frozen yogurt and grape tomatoes all make for summery, healthy, and satisfying snacks.
  • Use the grill. If you're making a Chicken Caesar salad, grill the chicken rather than simply baking or cooking in a pan. This adds visual interest and a nice smoky taste. You can also grill almost any vegetables that are going into the salad.
  • Prep your meals in advance. Dishes like salads and fruits are easy to prepare ahead and store in an airtight container. Marinate your meat and fish rather than cooking it ahead because it can lose its moisture once cooked.

3. Wear your swimwear. Wearing your bikini or swim trunks underneath your clothing is a simple and effective way to motivate yourself to stick to any diet, fitness, and weight loss goals you've set.

Alternately, you can just try it on every day.

  • If you're not seeing the results you want to see, you'll be motivated to work harder. But if you are seeing results, you'll be encouraged to increase your efforts because you like what you see and want more of it!
  • If you're uncomfortable wearing a bikini, choose the next best thing. Wear your "thin" summer clothes. Or purchase your ideal summer outfit in a realistic target size. Use this outfit as inspiration. The goal is to fit into it comfortably by the start of summertime.
  • Window-shopping is also a good motivator. Head to your favorite website and check out their summer look book. Then, fill your shopping cart with items that will look fabulous on your smoking hot summer body! You can pretend-spend as much as you want without shelling out a dime.

Losing weight is rarely a quick task, but it is simple.

By breaking it down into manageable slices of effort, your goals are much more attainable. And when summer arrives, you'll have the leaner, healthier body you deserve!

6 Essential Tips for Aging Well and Stay Happy!

Getting older takes a toll on the body, mind, and spirit.

However, you can age well and stay happy by following simple advice from experts.

Consider these tips:

Read more: Healing Yourself: How to Relieve Pain and Age Slower With these Amazing Natural Strategies!

  1. Reduce the stress. Stress can sap your energy and affect your mood. Experts recommend reducing the stress in your life by analyzing the causes.
  • What are the biggest causes of stress in your life? Is it an annoying relative or a difficult coworker? You may want to examine your life and look for the sources of stress. Once you find them, you can work on eliminating them or reducing contact with the people who create stress.
  • Stress can affect you on a cellular level and age you.

2. Keep your mind active. One of the key factors to aging well is to have an active mind. From doing crossword puzzles to reading new books, you can keep your brain cells active.

  • Try new activities that work your mind.

This is an essential way to avoid boredom and find new experiences to share with others. For example, try learning a new language or cooking a different type of cuisine.

3. Exercise. Exercise is an essential part of aging well. It keeps your body healthy and helps the mind.

  • Exercise has multiple benefits including increased flexibility, improved circulation, and better muscle tone.

Researchers have found that exercise can help reduce the risk of chronic health issues that make aging a difficult process.

4. Explore the world around you. As you age, it’s important to stay curious and involved in the world around you. Avoid boredom and depression by being involved.

  • Travel is a popular hobby for retirees, but it’s not the only way to explore the world.

If you’re on a limited budget and can’t travel, then consider taking a class about a different country. You can also read books, visit local community centers, and interact with immigrants from various countries.

5. Stay socially engaged. Isolation is one of the biggest issues of aging. As you get older, you may interact less with friends and family.

  • Isolation is dangerous because it can have a negative impact on your health and lead to depression and anxiety.
  • It’s important to stay involved in your community and social circle. Attend parties with friends, throw family reunions, or visit others. Your social network will help you stay engaged and happy.

6. View aging from a different perspective. Your thoughts about aging can affect the quality of your life. Although aging involves changes, it also presents opportunities for growth and learning.

  • Researchers note that senior citizens who have positive attitudes toward aging are less likely to have chronic health issues.

Your attitude can affect your mind and your body, so pay attention to your thoughts.
  • Aging can bring the loss of loved ones, retirement from work, and other life transformations.

However, the way you view these changes can have a great impact on your life. Instead of accepting limitations, you can search for ways to overcome them or get past them.

Aging doesn’t have to mean the end for fun or happiness in your life.

You can age happily and successfully with a few adjustments.

Healing Yourself: How to Relieve Pain and Age Slower With these Amazing Natural Strategies!

If you watch daytime TV or read fitness magazines, you've probably heard about the MELT Method.

The MELT method is a new approach to relieving pain and slowing down the aging process.

So far, many experts and users are enthusiastic about the results. Plus, the techniques are affordable and compatible with many other healthy practices.

Take a closer look at the MELT Method and other natural strategies and how you can make them work for you.

Introduction to the MELT Method

  1. Understand the philosophy. While other forms of exercise target the musculoskeletal system, the MELT method works on the neurofascial system. It's based on the theory that stress builds up in the nervous and connective tissues and causes dehydration. MELT uses light touch exercises to rehydrate the tissue and relieve aches and stiffness.
  2. Know the history. MELT was created by Sue Hitzmann, a fitness instructor and manual therapist, to treat her own foot pain. Now there are more than 500 trained instructors nationwide.
  3. Manage the costs. MELT requires soft body rollers and treatment balls that you can buy for less than $100. You can also make your own materials with any roller and folded up towels or blankets.
  4. Talk with your doctor. Natural methods like MELT may help you get better results from medical treatments, avoid surgery, and eliminate the need for pain medications. Discuss your options with your doctor.

Other Natural Pain Relievers

  1. Use RICE. The traditional formula is still the recommended first response for sprained ankles and other minor injuries. Try Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation (RICE).
  2. Apply heat. Heat packs soothe stiff necks and sore backs. Warmth relaxes muscles and reduces spasms.
  3. Choose the right foods. Research suggests that certain foods promote healing. For example, ginger is known to fight inflammation. If your knee is bothering you, drink ginger tea. Cherries are another good choice because they contain powerful antioxidants called anthocyanins.
  4. Work with a professional. Physical therapists treat pain and teach you how to correct the underlying habits. You may want to consider other services, such as massage therapy or sports injury centers.
  5. Meditate daily. Meditation develops skills that make pain easier to bear. Visit a meditation center or look for a self-help book at your library.

Other Natural Methods to Slow Down Aging

  1. Quit smoking. Tobacco is one main cause of premature aging. Even if you've had trouble quitting in the past, nicotine replacement products and other strategies could turn your next attempt into a lasting success.
  2. Sleep well. Adequate amounts of good quality sleep are essential for giving our body time to heal and restore itself. Try going to bed and rising at about the same time each day. If you clear your mind of worries when you go to bed, it’s easier to drop off to sleep.
  3. Exercise regularly. There’s growing evidence that sitting for long periods of time has a negative impact on your health. In addition to your usual workouts, look for ways to incorporate more physical activity into your daily life. Get a standing desk or walk around for a few minutes every half hour.
  4. Manage stress. Stress causes inflammation and speeds up aging. Put aside time to relax with a warm bath or instrumental music. Make a conscious effort to slow down and focus on deep breathing.
  5. Wear sunscreen. Sunscreen is the best defense against wrinkles and skin cancer. Wear it all year round.

Whether you're coping with chronic pain or just want to stay as youthful as possible, natural techniques like the MELT Method will help to keep you looking and feeling your best.

Your physician can recommend the correct combination for your individual needs.

Daily Positive Affirmations: My Weight Loss Goals Are Attain

If you have ever tried to lose weight or change your eating habits, you know that it is not just a physical battle, but a mental one as well.

When it comes to weight loss, it can be tough to stay motivated.

You might start strong, but then a week or two goes by and things get overwhelming or frustrating and you find yourself back to your old habits.

My Weight Loss Goals Are Attainable

My accomplishments include great triumphs in school, my career, and family matters.

Weight loss may be a challenge, but I know that my weight loss goal can be achieved just as I tackle other challenges in my life and win!

For a driven person like me, losing weight is more like a game rather than a burden. Each pound I lose is a sign of my strength and determination.

By placing such a positive spin on my efforts to lose weight, I increase both my confidence and my will to succeed.

My weight loss goals are perfectly achievable. I set a reasonable timeline to lose weight and milestones to let me know how far I have come. Each time I reach a milestone, I treat myself to a movie or a gift unrelated to food.

Rewarding my achievements, no matter how small, gives me the motivation to keep on going.

I can have my cake and eat it too. But, I always make sure that it is angel food cake with a natural fruit topping! Choices like this let me enjoy the sweets I crave in healthier, smaller-calorie ways. The more I learn about food, the more pleasing choices I can find.

Like a game, I can find ways to prevent me from sabotaging myself, and win! Just as I can find tasty foods that are healthy, I also find fun ways to exercise.

With my positive mindset, the pounds just seem to be melting off! I am eating healthily, exercising regularly, and controlling my cravings.

Today, I keep my eye on the prize: fitting into my skinny jeans! I am actively working towards regaining the beach body that I once displayed proudly.

Your Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Am I losing weight to please myself or someone else?
  2. Am I truly overweight or am I simply striving for perfection?
  3. How can I curb cravings to stay strong in times of weakness?
