Digestive problems? Learn what you can do about it!

Throughout the time of eating your heart out to its extent, your digestive tract develops different kinds of ailments.

Digestive problems are very common nowadays since there are a whole lot of varieties of food to try.

You may think that it is just an upset stomach or something that you ate. But when you look closer and get a proper check-up, you will see how serious you should be treating the health of your digestive system, because as it progresses, it will affect different systems in your body that will complicate your condition for the worse.

Here is the list of some common and uncommon ailments of the digestive system and what are the things that you can do about it:

1) Gastritis

This is the inflammation of the stomach lining. This lining is the one responsible for producing acid in the stomach that helps to break down the food that you have ingested. But too much of this acid is enough to destroy the stomach.

The inflammation is due to the congestion of bacteria, too much alcohol, other immune system problems and certain kind of medications that has a side effect on your organs. The symptoms it shows includes; abdominal pain, indigestion, loss of appetite, bloating, burping, nausea and vomiting.

To prevent this from progressing to something more dangerous, you should avoid eating spicy, fatty and fried foods. Also, avoid drinking too much caffeine and alcohol as this all contributes to the worst development of gastritis. Stick to eating healthy and natural foods.

2) Ulcerative Colitis

The affected part of this ailment is the colon. This is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that affects a lot of people according to the CFFA. The colon becomes inflamed and the development of ulcer in the lining of the colon that causes bleeding and mucus.

The most common symptom it has or will first occur is diarrhea. It also includes abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea with mucus, fatigue, weight loss, anemia, dehydration, feeling the urge to empty the bowels constantly. These symptoms happen worse early in the morning.

To prevent it or to just simply ease the symptoms you should eat smaller portions but do it more often in a day. Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, cut it down and make it 6. Keep yourself hydrated, much better if you stick with water because it is the safest fluid you can intake.

3) Hemorrhoids

This is the inflammation of your blood vessels at the end of your digestive tract. Due to this you will notice a bright red blood on your feces when you move your bowels. Hemorrhoids will tend to make your feel pain and itch. This is the effect of diarrhea, chronic constipation, too much strain on bowel movements, and the deprivation of fiber.

The symptoms of these may include swelling around the anus, a lump near the anus, bleeding, irritation in the anal region and pain. And the best way to prevent this from happening is to eat foods that can make your stools soft so that it won’t be hard to let out and won’t create a damage in you.

Eat more natural foods like fruits and vegetables. These are the best option to make your stool as soft as possible as they are rich with fibers that helps to avoid the straining that cause hemorrhoids.

Taking fiber supplements is also helpful when you can’t meet the required amount of fiber for a day (25 grams for women and 38 grams for men).

And when you feel the urge to go, don’t strain it. As this is the reason why it becomes too hard to pass. So, it is best to go as soon as you feel like it.

4) Constipation

It happens commonly when you have ingested too much dairy product such as milk and cheese. Straining the urge to pass, lack of fiber and stress are just a few in a lot of possible causes of constipation.

Increase your water intake and include fiber in your diet. Warm water is advisable especially in the morning to help your organs to move and be active to process your digestion properly. Exercise and do not strain the feeling or the urge to poop.
