How To Believe in Yourself When You Are Going Through the Toughest Times?

Your mindset will determine your level of success, or lack thereof.

A positive mindset can empower you to abolish hurdles before they become too challenging.

It may be difficult to believe in yourself when everything around you seems to be crumbling into pieces, but keeping faith is the only way to trudge through the hard times and see yourself clear to better days.

Try these strategies to help you remain steadfast when you're feeling the pressure of tough times:

  1. Reflect on the past. Surely you've encountered seemingly insurmountable situations in the past. How have you succeeded in the most unpleasant scenarios? Clearly, your ability to overcome these situations speaks loudly for your strength and abilities.
  • In some situations, you may be able to emulate your past solutions by adapting them to fit your current situation. Other times, you'll be able to learn what not to do from past trials and tribulations.
  • The past needn't dictate your future. It's possible to reflect without working up old, unresolved feelings. This is a positive exercise. If you begin to feel negative emotions, move onto another technique, which can help you increase self-confidence in your abilities.
  • Act immediately. Rather than retreating into your personal cocoon when a situation becomes intimidating, address it immediately. The longer you allow a situation to sit without attention, the more urgent it will become. A perfect example is debt.
  • Avoid cornering yourself with urgency by creating a proactive plan now. Or, better yet, have a just-in-case plan before the event ever happens. It's okay to take a few hours to create a plan of attack. But, if you're still brainstorming weeks from today, you may be stalling.
  • Only you can be the source of a solution. You are in charge of managing your life and ensuring its success. Take pride in this power. After all, you're free - no one commands you! Your life is what you make it. And you can use your power to start off on the right foot each and every day.
  • Believe it. You will make it through. You've found your way out of a tough situation before. You'll do it now and again sometime in the future. There is always a way to get your head above the water - always. You'll get better at it once you gain experience.
  • You have a fan base of supporters. Your children, spouse, and extended family are cheering you on every day. Chances are that no one doubts your abilities the way you do. In fact, they have faith in your abilities because you've proven your strength time and time again.
  • As Bernice Johnson Reagon once said, "Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they're supposed to help you discover who you are."
  • Now is as good of a time as any to show yourself what you're made of. Confirm to yourself that you're as strong and tenacious as you suspect yourself to be.

Everyone encounters hard times - it's simply a part of life.

And a very major part of how you will address these hard times is dependent on your mindset and your ability to believe in yourself, even throughout the toughest of times.

Your mindset can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

If you allow your mindset to shift into negative territory, you'll end up with negative results. Remember, you attract the energy you exude!

11 Lessons the Elderly Can Teach Us

Elderly folks have a perspective that is hard to duplicate regardless of how much thought you put into it. They’ve lived a long time and have learned a thing or two that only experience can teach.

While jumping ahead to the end of a good book might spoil the story, getting a few tips from someone that has lived a full life is just smart thinking. It’s always good to get advice from an expert. The elderly are the experts on living life.

The elderly have a lot to teach about life, such as:

  1. Your level of mobility will change. You don’t have to spend a lot of time around older people to notice that their strength, endurance, mobility, and flexibility are compromised compared to when they were 20 years younger. It’s harder to get around when you’re 75 years old. ○ Doctors that work primarily with the elderly are particularly concerned with the mobility of their patients. They know that once a person’s mobility has diminished enough, their living situation changes dramatically.
  2. Your looks are on borrowed time. Age catches up to even the most attractive men and women to ever walk the planet. Enjoy your physical appearance while you can.
  3. Your health is highly valuable. Most relatively young people are healthy enough that they never give it a second thought. They’re much more concerned with money and success. There will come a time when you realize that your health is the most important thing you have.
  4. There are things you can do now that you won’t be able to do someday. There comes a point when it’s too late to take up bull riding, hang gliding, rock climbing, hiking across Europe, or going to medical school. There’s no time to waste.
  5. Work doesn’t matter as much as you think it does right now. While those in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are often consumed by work, at some point you realize that there are other things you could’ve been focused on that might have been more fulfilling.
  6. Humility. Maybe you’re a billionaire that also does some modeling on the weekend, but there’s a good chance that someone making minimum wage will be changing your diaper someday.
  7. Prioritize. Time is limited. There’s only so much you can accomplish in a lifetime. We’re all guilty of wasting a lot of time. Have priorities and live by them.
  8. The pain of regret is worse than the fear of rejection or failure. After reaching a certain age, you realize that not doing certain things because of fear were your worst mistakes. The pain of regret is common and very real at the end of one’s life.
  9. Worrying is a waste of valuable time. The things you worried about when you were 10 or 20 years old seem foolish now. The things you worry about now will seem just as foolish when you’re 80.

10.You can find love at any age. There are a surprising number of people that were married for 30+ years, lost their spouse, and then found someone that brought them additional happiness and love in their later years.

11.There’s still time, but there’s not unlimited time. You still have time, but that time will pass quicker than you think. It’s time to get busy.

Life is short, so it’s best to get advice from someone with more experience than you have. Sometimes the truth is only revealed at the end of the journey.

Spend some time with some older folks and ask them for advice about life. Let them tell you about their regrets and successes. You can learn a lot from someone that’s already been around the block.

The Secret to Cutting 80% of Excess Sugar and Salt in Your Diet!

What if there was one thing you could do that would eliminate 80% of the excess sugar and salt in your diet?

You can eat healthier without giving up desserts and potatoes!

If you’re like the average adult, you’re likely eating too much sugar and salt.

Most of that comes from processed foods you buy in supermarkets and restaurants.

To make matters worse, many of these items, like sweetened breakfast cereals and soda, are ultra-processed. They’re full of artificial ingredients made in labs, and they’ve been shown to accelerate weight gain.

You can enjoy delicious foods along with the health benefits of cutting back on sugar and salt. That includes lowering your blood pressure and LDL cholesterol, as well as reducing your risk of heart attacks, stroke, and other serious health issues.

Make a good start with these suggestions.

Checkout The Secret to Cutting 80% of Excess Sugar and Salt in Your Diet!

Eating More Whole Foods

About 80% of the sugar and salt in your diet comes from processed foods. Switching to whole foods is a big change, but you can succeed with one small step at a time.

Try these techniques:

  1. Check your cabinets. Put junk food out of reach. Remove it from your kitchen or store it on the highest shelves. You’re less likely to give into temptation if it means driving to a store or taking out a step stool.
  2. Shop the perimeter. Stick to the outer aisles at the supermarket. That’s where you’ll find fresh produce and dairy products, instead of chips and candy.
  3. Visit farmers markets. Diversify your grocery shopping. Research farmers markets and ethnic shops in your neighborhood.
  4. Bring a list. Reduce impulse purchases by planning what to buy before you leave home. Create menus for the week, so you’ll know what ingredients you need.
  5. Dine at home. Restaurants and manufacturers tend to use ultra-processed ingredients because they’re tasty and cheap. Prepare your own meals and snacks. You’ll also save a lot of money.
  6. Adjust recipes. Experiment with using less salt and sugar than the recipe calls for. Taste your food before picking up the saltshaker to see how much you really need.

Other Ideas for Cutting Back on Added Sugar and Salt

If you like the results you see so far, you may want to go further.

Make your diet even healthier with these simple strategies:

  1. Taper down. If you gradually reduce how much sugar and salt you add to foods, you may change your habits without even noticing any difference in the taste. For example, if you usually take your coffee with sugar, work your way down a quarter teaspoon at a time.
  2. Substitute other flavors. Liven up your dishes with herbs and spices. To save money, you can grow many herbs indoors and buy products that will keep them fresh in the refrigerator for days.
  3. Read labels. When you buy food in a box or bag, check the nutritional information. For example, frozen vegetables without sauce can be a wholesome time-saver.

  4. Drink water. Quench your thirst with plain water rather than sweetened beverages. If you like more flavor, add fruit or cucumber slices.
  5. Increase your fiber. Foods rich in dietary fiber help prevent cravings for sweet and salty snacks. Smart choices include vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
  6. Sleep well. Getting 8 hours of sleep each night fights cravings too, in addition to the many other health benefits. Go to bed early and wake up ready for a hearty breakfast.

As you eat more whole foods, you’re retraining your taste buds to prefer natural flavors.

You may soon like homemade whole grain pita chips more than pork rinds. You’ll be increasing your chances for leading a longer and more active life by consuming less sugar and salt.

15 Simple Hacks to Boost Your Health

The world is full of hacks these days. Work efficiency hacks. Relationship hacks. Dog grooming hacks. Fitness hacks. And of course, health hacks, which may be the most important of all. After all, everything actually revolves around your health.

Your health is rarely impacted by single events. It’s the little things each day that maintain or destroy your health.

Our Top 15 Simple Hacks to Boost Your Health

Boost your health with these simple tips:

1. Try intermittent fasting. The human body wasn’t designed to deal with a constant stream of calories. Our ancient ancestors certainly didn’t have the luxury of three meals a day, plus snacks! An 8-hour eating window each day is plenty, and many experts advocate significantly less than that for adults.

2. Bodyweight exercises. You can get a great workout at home without any equipment. If you can’t even do a single push up, stand at the bottom of the stairs and place your hand on an appropriate step. If you’re really out of shape, lie flat on your back on your floor and stand back up. Repeat. Repeat.

3. Have a piece of dark chocolate each day. Dark chocolate is delicious and has numerous health benefits. It can be a great way to finish your evening meal or as a special treat.

4. Use smaller plates. Studies show that using a smaller plate leads to eating less. If you wish to cut calories, this is an easy trick that works, as long as you don’t go back for seconds or thirds because the plate is smaller.

5. Take a cold shower. Hot showers feel good, but there’s not much else you can say about them. However, a cold shower has many benefits. Lower stress levels, better immune response, increased tolerance to pain, and weight-loss can all be yours for a few minutes of misery each day.

6. Move around at least once each hour. Give yourself a break each hour and move around for at least 5-10 minutes. It’s good for you, and you’ll get more work done by taking regular breaks.

7. Challenge your brain each day. Spend some time each day working your brain. For example, learn something new, play chess, do a crossword puzzle, or learn a foreign language.

8. Laugh. Laughing is good for your mind and your body. Stream a funny movie, read some jokes, or talk to a funny friend.

9. Stretch. While you’re watching that funny movie, get on the floor and do some stretches. You’ll feel better and make yourself more resistant to injury.

10. Get sufficient sleep. You can’t be healthy if you’re not getting enough sleep. Experts recommend 7-8 hours each night.

11. Eat your vegetables. Most vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals and low in calories. High levels of nutrition with minimal calories will boost your health and reduce your waistline. It’s hard to overeat if you’re eating a lot of vegetables.

12. Use fruit for dessert. Fruit is nutritious, but most fruits are also high in sugar. Use fruit as a way to finish your meal and avoid less healthy dessert options.

13. Avoid screens before bed. By the end of the day, you’ve already spent plenty of time looking at computer, TV, and smartphone screens. Give your brain a break, and you’ll sleep better.

14. Keep a journal. A journal can reduce stress and boost mental health. Writing in a journal can be a great way to end your day.

There are simple things you can do each day to enhance your health. It’s important to recognize just how important your health is. There are plenty of examples in the news every single day of people that are suffering from illness.

While you can’t avoid every injury and sickness, there are many things you can do to put the odds in your favor. A little self-care for your health each day adds up to a lot of health benefits.

10 Secrets to Accelerate Your Weight Loss!

Losing weight is a slow process.

A few calories contain a lot of energy, so it takes time. However, there is plenty you can do to move the process along.

Try our Top 10 Secrets to Accelerate Your Weight Loss!

Try these strategies:

  1. Skip breakfast. This may be counter to the advice given to you as a child, but recent studies show that skipping breakfast can be a healthy way to lose weight. Research the term “intermittent fasting” for more information.
  2. Stick to no-calorie beverages. It’s easier to drink a lot of calories than to eat them. Sugary drinks can add a lot of calories in a hurry. The same goes for your morning latte. Water is the best option.
  3. Add coffee or tea to your diet. Try to avoid adding milk or sugar. The caffeine found in both can suppress appetite. Caffeine has also been shown to mobilize fat stores.
  4. Eat more fiber. Fiber can fill you up, stabilize blood sugar levels, and keep you regular.
  5. Eat more unprocessed foods. If you only eat meat, vegetables, fruit, and grains, it’s not easy to eat enough to maintain a heavy body weight. It’s the man-made foods like pasta, bread, cookies, ice cream, and cheese that usually create an issue.
  6. Take a morning walk. Instead of having breakfast, put on your walking shoes and take a tour of your neighborhood or hop on the treadmill. A 20-minute walk can do wonders if done regularly.
  7. Make vegetables the main course of every meal. Vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals, and most have few calories.
  8. Track your diet. Use a diet-tracking app or software to keep track of the foods you eat.
  9. Get enough sleep. Those that sleep less than 6 hours tend to have a higher percentage of body fat. Your body doesn’t operate optimally without enough sleep.
  10. Move more. Find ways to add more steps to your day. Park further from the door when you go to work or to the store. Use the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.

Adopt the above few, small habits and your weight loss will be accelerated. Try it and let us know what you think!
